Office Reveal
This is a love letter to my office. This space is special, and by far my favorite design work to date. I had a vision for this office, and with a lot of work and love, my vision came to life.
To be honest, this space all started with the matching horse prints. My avid antiquer friend sourced these for me, and they added the sophistication I was looking for. It was important for this office to be a continuation from the current aesthetic that fills our home. I’m all about warm, cozy and traditional styles.
Board-and-batten is everywhere these days, and this office certainly called for a board-and-batten wall. I credit all of the hard work that went into creating this office to my wonderful husband. He made my custom wall dreams come true. By emphasizing this one wall, it completely elevated the room.
Remember when I told you this office feels special? This desk is the reason so. After eyeing a waterfall desk in one of my decor magazines, I knew I had to have one eventually. Only one slight problem, they usually start at around $3,000! My husband and his grandpa worked tirelessly to turn this walnut slab into a beautiful waterfall desk. I know the work that went behind it, and that’s why every time I sit down at it I feel special.
I placed this desk in the center of the room, so that everyone who viewed our office could focus their eyes to this work of art.
When I’m choosing decorative items, I always go with some old and some new. I seek out items like vintage books, art work and figurines at antique or thrift stores. That helps with styling on a budget. I like to modernize with new picture frames and greenery.
The globe we had everyone sign from our wedding tied perfectly into the classic vibes of our office. I emphasized this personal area with our wedding album and wooden links. The last and final touch were the wall sconces, and you’ll never believe where I found them! These brushed gold sconces completed my vision, and added elegance to the room that wasn’t there before with all of the natural elements.

This space is much more than just a pretty space in our home. It’s beautiful and functional. Becoming a realtor I needed a work space that allowed me to feel calm and organized. Whatever season in life you are in, you must create a space for that season in order to thrive. I hope this encourages you to take your vision and turn it into life!
