Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Our quest to explore more of Colorado this year started out with a stay in the cutest little mountain town. Glenwood Springs has it all from great restaurants to great views. Our stay at The Courtyard Glenwood Springs couldn’t have been in a better location. We were close to the quaint downtown and even closer to the hot springs!

Every night after dinner we stopped by Sundae for the best ice cream. The salted cookies and cream is to die for! We tried out three restaurants downtown and all were wonderful. Glenwood Canyon Brewpub serves up some really great burgers and craft beers. One night we treated ourselves to a nice dinner at Juicy Lucy’s. Steakhouse. Don’t let the name fool you, this restaurant is serving up some gourmet dishes. We especially enjoyed the elk appetizer and the brie stuffed mushrooms. Our best meal was from this local taco joint. Every night we would see people lined up outside waiting for their tacos. We knew we had to give this place a try, and boy oh boy are we glad we did! Slope & Hatch lived up to its hype we had seen each night.
This trip was all about jumping in the Jeep and going to explore. We drove south of Glenwood Springs about 30 minutes and found a hiking trail. We hiked Huntsman Ridge to an elevation of 10,347 feet. To say it was a strenuous and exhausting hike would be an understatement. The views at the top were totally worth it though!

Some locals told us to make sure and stop by Slow Groovin BBQ in the town of Marble. This BBQ joint was literally a hidden gem way off the beaten path. It ended up being the perfect lunch after our long hike. Take the time to scout out this place, it won’t disappoint!
I saved the best for last… Iron Mountain Hot Springs. Visiting the hot springs in Glenwood Springs is a popular activity and was definitely at the top of my list. If you don’t like hot tubs this activity may not be for you, because those hot springs well they get hot!! On our last evening in town we watched the sun go down over the mountains and sipped cocktails. It was a great way to end our stay in Glenwood Springs!
When you’re up for a good outdoor adventure, head on over to my second favorite state… Colorado! There are endless activities for the outdoorsy kind.
